Instructor: Joe Solanto, PH.D

These two courses cover a broad range of information regarding human responses to psychological trauma and effective therapeutic responses based on the latest theories from the field of trauma psychology Course One provides a comprehensive introduction to this topic and is suitable for both public and professional viewing by people with a wide range or interests. It is offered in audio/visual format on a CD ROM providing numerous "slides" accompanied by audio lectures, as well as a series of hand-outs which can be printed for easy reference. In addition to use as a guided study program for an individual, it would also be useful for group viewing, discussion, and self-directed learning. Courses Two and Three are offered in DVD format and consist of two separate videos of courses offered to a professional audience, and include lectures, demonstrations, discussions, and participant practice activities. These two courses presume a working knowledge of basic trauma psychology (such as is provided in Course One) and counselling, and will be most appropriate for those with a professional interest in providing therapeutic interventions to trauma survivours.
