Virtual Classroom
We get many inquiries from cities such as Toronto, Calgary, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Victoria and states like Washington, California, Texas, Florida and others. It can be frustrating for some potential students and ourselves when we have to tell them that only our distance Basic course is available to them because of the requirement of our onsite training to attend 12 days of class over 8 months in Vancouver or Kelowna, BC.
At the Orca Institute we are always striving to be on the cutting edge of technology. We believe that this focus only serves to enhance our ability to deliver high quality content to our students. In keeping with this belief we are now offering a fully interactive Virtual Classroom option for situations where because of distance and/or finances a student cannot attend the onsite potion of our training. Although there is nothing comparible to being there we feel that this is a good alternative when needed especially when it makes the difference between being able to take the course or not.Participants can attend training or meetings from anywhere in the world with the appropriate equipment (listed below). There is no extra fee for this method of delivery. The technical requirements needed by the student to participate are below.
- A computer with at least a dual core CPU and 4GBs memory.
- A web cam.
- headset or array mic
- An internet connection which is at least 1 level above regular high speed (usually about $10-$15 more per month).
- Skype or Google talk (both free)
