Page 1This basic course described below is also the first part of the Diploma course and it includes the in class (60 hrs.) requirements of the Diploma course. In attending the classes described below students have the choice of taking either the Basic or Diploma course.The advantage to some students would be not having to travel outside of Kelowna to complete their Diploma. They would simply continue with their Diploma assignments after finishing the Basic course. Upon successfully completing the Diploma course students receive a Diploma from The Orca Institute as a Counselling Hypnotherapist(Cand.) and a Counselling Hypnotherapist(Cand.) certificate from the IACH upon joining. Due to the number of inquiries we have had from Kelowna and surrounding area we are starting training in Kelowna once again. This 285 hour course will consist of 60 hours in class and the balance by distance learning (video, textbooks, manuals assignments). We will be offering the in class portion our Basic Certification course in Kelowna on an ongoing basis. These classes also fulfill the in class requirement for Diploma Course students.This Basic Certification course takes 5 to 8 months to complete and upon successfully completion qualifies the student to receive a Resident Hypnotherapist Certificate from The Orca Institute and a Resident Hypnotherapist certificate from the IACH upon joining. The fee for this course is CAD$2850.00. Books are approximately CAD$130.00. Manuals and Videos are included. Payment plans are available.

Who should attend?
The intent of this course is to provide the student with the hypnotherapy and counseling skills necessary to be in private practice or as complement to an existing practice in the health care field. It is very experientially oriented and includes a broad spectrum of therapeutic approaches. It is well suited for anyone in the complementary Health Field or for individuals who would like to start a new career. There are no academic pre-requisites for this course as it starts from basic Counselling and Hypnotherapy skills.
