OVERVIEW
This 285 hour course
takes place onsite as well as offsite.The recommended time to finish the course is 6 months to 1 year, part time. The onsite portion of this course
occurs over 6 of 7 days.There is no class on the middle day to give students a break due to the experiential nature of the course. The onsite sessions will have a strong focus on
basic and advanced hypnosis techniques , counseling skills and other
complementary approaches. There is a focus on the works of Dr.
Milton Erickson as well as a strong practical component.
The offsite portion of the course begins when the student receives the course materials which consist of :
- 37 page course manual
- 70 page Video Manual
- 4 DVD's (45 hours of Video)
- Counselling textbook and workbook (purchased separately)
- Therapeutic Trances textbook (purchased separately)
Typically, materials are sent out before the onsite portion begins giving the student an opportunity to start the course when the materials are received.
The student continues working with those materials throughout the
onsite portion and after until he/she completes all of the assignments including a Practicum and submits them for review.
Upon successful completion of the assignments the student receives a certificate from The Orca Institute as a "Resident Hypnotherapist" and upon joining the "International Association of Counseling Hypnotherapists" receives a certificate from the association as as a "Resident Hypnotherapist". The Orca Institute is also an approved school with the American Board of Hypnotherapy and is registered with the PCTIA
